WHEN & WHERE
The course will take place over three days.
Day 1: Sunday 31 July 2022, on Zoom, between 9am-5pm.
Day 2-3: Saturday 6 – Sunday 7 August 2022, in Tauranga, between 9am-5pm.

Course Leaders
BONNIE BLAKE - HEAD COURSE LEADER
Bonnie Blake (Te Whānau-ā-Apanui) has had a career in the screen industry spanning 15 years.
With a focus in Production on feature film and television series’, Bonnie’s experience extends from large budget international productions for studio’s such as Disney, Netflix, and Warner Brothers, through to independent, New Zealand stories.
Bonnie also has a breadth of experience in both on and off set roles across the Accounts, Assistant Directing, Transport, and VFX Departments, with crews from around 20-2000 people, across New Zealand and the Pacific. She has completed vocational training in Drama Production Management at the Australian Film, Television & Radio School, as well as a UPM internship on The Meg, and Mulan. Her recent Production Management credits include Reunion, Wellington Paranormal, and Juniper.
Bonnie was also selected to attend the Share The Knowledge: Line Producer Training Course in 2020. Having benefited from various initiatives for industry training, she is excited to host the Production Manager Course and help others in the industry to up-skill.
DESRAY ARMSTRONG - COURSE LEADER
Desray Armstrong (Te Aitanga-ā-Hauiti, Ngāti Porou) is an independent producer with a diverse slate of credits. From 2007-2011, Desray and producer/director Chelsea Winstanley ran production company 'StanStrong' with a focus on creating compelling, conscious and informative content with a Māori worldview. Since then, Desray has built up a mass of physical production experience, predominantly in feature film.
Credits include Reunion, Mulan, Mortal Engines, A Wrinkle in Time, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, The Rehearsal, The Light Between Oceans, Z for Zachariah, Slow West and What We Do In The Shadows.
She has produced award-winning short films including Meathead by Sam Holst (Cannes Film Festival 2011, Berlin Film Festival 2012 Crystal Bear Winner), Ellen is Leaving (SXSW Film Festival 2013 Best Narrative Short Winner), and Bats (NZIFF & Melbourne 2018) by Michelle Savill, Snowmen by Jonathan Brough (Show Me Shorts 2014) and recently completed Jessica Sanderson’s Ways To See. She has produced visually rich music videos for Aaradhna, Shapeshifter, and Tama Waipara directed by Jessica Sanderson and two seasons of Mike Minogue’s comedy web series The Watercooler released on NZME’s platform Watch Me.
In 2018 she released two passion projects; Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi and Paul Yates’ hit mockumentary television series Wellington Paranormal and Dustin Feneley’s debut feature film Stray. Her first feature film as lead producer, Stray had its world premiere at Moscow International Film Festival in April 2018 where it was awarded Best Actor. It subsequently went on to have a successful domestic theatrical run, screening for 10 weeks in over 40 cinemas around the country.
Recipient of the 2016 WIFT Woman to Watch, 2018 SPADA Independent Producer of the Year and the 2019 Te Kai Ngakahi Melissa Wikaire Award, Desray has served on the boards of industry guilds Ngā Aho Whakaari (Māori in Screen Production) and Women in Film & Television and is active in creating pathways for more women and Māori to step into key creative roles with the feature film landscape.

WHO CAN APPLY?
To apply for the Production Manager course, you must have first completed the preceding Movie Magic Budgeting Course presented by Share The Knowledge. Participants of both courses should have some experience in budgeting in either excel or MMB, and have at least an intermediate level of knowledge and experience in the screen industry. It is best suited for people who wish to pursue Production Management roles in film, television, and commercials.
WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE COURSE BE HELD?
The course will be held over 3 days:
Day 1 is Sunday 31 July 2022, online via Zoom, approximately 9am-5pm.
Day 2 & 3 is Saturday 6 August – Sunday 7 August 2022, in person in Tauranga (venue TBC), approximately 9am-5pm.
IS THERE ANY SUPPORT FOR TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION COSTS?
Travel & accommodation expenses will at the cost of the participant, however you can contact your Regional Film Office or the New Zealand Film Commission to apply for travel and accommodation support.
HOW MANY SPACES ARE AVAILABLE?
There are 12 spaces available for this course, and we are looking for people from all over New Zealand to attend.

3. Final participant list announced Friday 29th July, 2022.
IS THERE A COST TO THIS COURSE?
There is a fee of $350 + GST for course participants. The course fee of $150 + GST for the MMB course is in addition to this, so the total cost for both courses is $500 + GST.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WHEN ATTENDING THE COURSE?
Please bring something to take notes with. Feel free to bring a laptop if you choose, but it is not essential.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER THE COURSE?
The group will have access to the ‘Inner Circle’ – this is a closed forum where we can network, share information, ask and answer questions, and provide support to each other. We also post any suitable job opportunities in this forum. Share the Knowledge are committed to providing ongoing support to all their alumni wherever possible.
